Install Visual Studio 6 on Windows 10

Important note for Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows XP SP3

You must install and run VS6Installer 5.x ‘as administrator’, otherwise you get a error. Right-click on VS6Installer.exe -> Run As Administrator

If you have already tried to install VB 6.0, before using VS6 Installer then you must:

1. uninstall VB 6.0 and MSDNLibrary
2. delete the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\ folder
3. delete the registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Visual Basic
4. Doesn’t put VS6Installer folder into a folder on your Desktop: create a new folder in C:\VS6Installer
5. Before to prepare folder (Step 1, 2 and 3) ensure that your source files aren’t ReadOnly. (VS6Installer check and correct automatically if need)
